About This Site

The most important event in the evangelization of the New World occurred in December, 1531. Over the course of four days, the Virgin Mary appeared to a Native Mexican named Juan Diego. As a result of this encounter, the image miraculously imprinted by Our Lady on Juan Diego’s tilma (or cloak), millions of Native Americans embraced the Catholic faith, and the Americas began to be transformed into “the Catholic hemisphere.”

We invite you to explore this Web site, learn about various claims and discover the truth regarding the mysteries surrounding the miraculous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The results of Church-approved analyses and research are presented to demystify misleading statements about the image imprinted on Juan Diego’s tilma that have been made over the centuries and even today.

This Web site is a complementary element in a series of sites that promote and document the First International Marian Congress on Our Lady of Guadalupe, including its Guadalupe Festival, a celebration of that great, hemisphere-changing event.
The Congress and Festival feature speakers and performers from around the Americas and around the world. The celebration will include music, Native dancing, the rosary, inspirational speeches, and a presentation on the history, meaning and importance of the appearance of Our Lady of Guadalupe to St. Juan Diego.

We encourage you to visit all of the sites and to participate in the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe under her title as Empress of the Americas.
